In need of U.S. vacation ideas?

Can you name a few great vacation spots for a couple. I live in MN but it doesn't have to be close, just in the US. (we are planning on driving). possibly low cost We like to hike and be outside but I would like to have lodging near by for the nights. I have been in my favorite spot on earth for the last 11 days (Maui) and I have had a fabulous, magical time. I fly home tomorrow to NC and am already very sad. I am wanting to go to the beach with my family for my high school graduation trip. I will probably be taking about 10 or 11 of my family members not including me. So we would need a condominium to stay in. I would also like for it to be a nice atmostphere. Not a lot of crazy party areas where you see condoms everywhere.
