Mueller state park near divide would be nice for you and the kids. They have plenty of hiking trails but not ones that you will have to worry about them falling off the side of the mountain. They also have a playground and horse back riding. It is an hour from Colorado springs. In Colorado springs there is the garden of the gods and also North Cheyenne canyon( my favorite place to hike). On the way to the CS from divide you will pass manitou springs and they have an old arcade that the kids would enjoy.
