The Sunshine Coast in Queensland has some great seaside vacations spots

The Sunshine Coast is one of the true natural gems of Queensland, which is positively plush with natural gems. It is also easy to get to being just one hour north of Brisbane and services by the Sunshine Coast Airport from all major cities and many Australian regional centers. There is a great range of Sunshine Coast accommodation to stay in while you are visiting this corner of paradise.

From Brisbane the Sunshine Coast can easily be reached by rail networks, bus connections, the Sunshine Coast Airport or by car. It is a location that is endowed with incredible natural beauty and it is a relaxed place for a memorable vaction.

There is plenty to do on the Sunshine Coast from lazing on the white sandy beaches and swimming or surfing in the azure waters to bushwalking along trails to bathe in fresh, natural waterfalls in the hinterland. You will come away from your Sunshine Coast vacation relaxed and with an appreciation for the rich natural landscape there.

One of the most popular attractions on the coast for visitors is the internationally famous Australia Zoo. The zoo is filled with native Australian animals such as crocodiles, koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, Tasmanian devils and much more. You can easily spend the entire day there seeing the incredible displays and enclosures. If you are lucky your might even get to see Bindi Irwin, Bob or Terri around the place as they live on the property and are often busy at work there teaching visitors about how to care for endangered animals.

Further north on the coast is the township of Noosa, which is also internationally known for its beautiful beaches. The Main Beach is protected and a safe place for swimming and learning to surf. Just up the road is the Noosa National Park, which is a forest filled with wild koalas that meets the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful barely describes the location as you can peacefully stroll along the path and swim or play at deserted beaches along the way to a bluff overlooking the south of the coast.

Another very popular spot is Mooloolaba. This open beach is beautiful and has fantastic beach front park and barbecue facilities to enjoy. There are also many alfresco cafes and restaurants as well as some great shopping to be had in the area. A more quiet, but very charming area is Cotton Tree just a little down the road. This little hamlet is nestled into the pocket between Maroochydore Beach and the Maroochy River. You can enjoy scrumptious food at the cafes, take in some shopping and swim at the beach or river.

Up behind Maroochydore and Mooloolaba you will find Buderim, which is a small mountain. At the top there is a beautiful waterfall park, which makes a lovely place to wander and bath under the waterfall and paddle in the creeks that flow there.

Visiting the hinterland is also a must while you are staying in Sunshine Coast accommodation, as the environment is very different from down on the coast. There are wonderful waterfalls at Gardener’s Falls and lots of lovely shops and cafes to enjoy meandering around for a day. Montville, Maleny and Mapleton are the most popular locations for tourists.
