I live in Georgia.
If you’re wanting something out of state, try Chattanooga.
Not too far from Georgia and not real expensive. Quite educational, too!
TN Aquarium (definitely do this!), Chattanooga zoo, Chattanooga Choo-Choo, Rock City (and this), Ruby Falls, Incline Railway, Creative Discovery Museum, TN River, fishing, the Southern Belle Riverboat.
all the Civil War Battlefields and museum and Hunter Museum of American Art (it’s in the Art District, stop at Rembrandts for breakfast, coffee and hand made truffles.Yum! Sometimes you can watch them make wedding cakes too.)
Shops downtown and at Hamilton Place(not sure, but it’s said to be the largest mall in TN)!!!
Eat at Blue Water Grille, Sticky Fingers, Porkers(Pres.Bush ate here a couple of months ago), Big River Grille, Blue Plate, Mellow Mushroom, Hennen’s, CheeburgerCheeburger, pretty much anything downtown is good!
Stay downtown, the closer to the river the better. Don’t stay at the ChooChoo or anywhere past there. Stay close to the river, it’s much nicer. Either of the downtown Marriotts or the Garden Inn would be good. Look up comments from people who’ve stayed at whatever hotel or B&B you think you might like before you choose.
